KanjiCan contains over 2000 whimsical, easy-to-remember "stories" to help you remember the Kanji
  • Learn how to recognize the Kanji in just a few short months.
  • It really works - see our "testimonials" section.
  • Has tons of new original stories and story componenents.
  • Now includes stories for both ON and kun readings.
  • Interface to Kanjidic updated to display Japanese characters without 3rd party software.
  • Easy kanji lookup by pronunciation, keyword, text string, and index number.
  • Sophisticated, customizable flashcard function.
KanjiCan is based on the ground-breaking system presented in "Remembering the Kanji, Volume I" by James W. Heisig. The system provides a unique, highly effective solution to memorizing the kanji by creeating "stories" to help memorize the kanji.

If you don't have the time or inclination to create your own stories, KanjiCan provides these. However, you can also create and record your own stories and review them.

"My reading has vastly improved. In class I learned maybe 200 kanji in 2 years. After 3 months using your software for 1 hour a day, I found myself capable of figuring out what any of the Joyou kanji meant. Am eternally grateful"
- Nathan from Plymouth, MN -
"After 6 months of using the program, I was accepted at a translation school and I now work as a translator".
- Greg in Nagoya, Japan -
I must compliment you on many of your stories. I broke out in laughter yesterday at the local library and attracted one or two curious glances. This is good because a funny story will stick faster to the mind".
- Marcus Jensen, Japan -
